RNIP

The Rural and Northern Immigration Pilot (RNIP) is an immigration project launched by the Canadian Immigration Bureau to help smaller rural and northern regions attract and retain foreign skilled workers to meet their economic development And labor market demand. It is suitable for skilled workers who want to immigrate to Canada and can temporarily live in the rural and northern regions. The 11 communities that have been approved include Ontario in Eastern Canada, ON, British Columbia, and Alberta in Western Canada. AB, Saskatoon SK and Manitoba MB.

Application requirements

Types of overseas skilled workers (non-community college graduates):

  • In the past 3 years, 1 year of continuous full-time work experience is required

  • The job position meets any category of NOC O/A/B/C/D

  • Obtain a Job Offer from the employer in the pilot community (at least 30 hours per week) and the work is non-seasonal

  • High school degree or above, overseas qualifications need to be certified

  • The language requirements are different according to the level of the position to be applied for, as follows:

  1. NOC 0 and A: CLB / NCLC 6 is equivalent to IELTS 5.5

  2. NOC B: CLB / NCLC 5 is equivalent to IELTS 5

  3. NOC C and D: CLB / NCLC 4 is equivalent to IELTS 4.5

  • Applicant intends to live in the application community

  • Obtain community endorsement (recommendation letter)

  • Provide proof of funds

Categories of graduates from local colleges in the community:

  • No work experience required

  • Study in Canada full-time for at least 2 years

  • Apply within 18 months of graduation

  • Lived in the community province for at least 16 months in the past 2 years before graduation

  • Pilot community employer’s job offer and the job is non-seasonal

  • The language requirements are different according to the level of the position to be applied for, as follows:

  1. 0/A type position language at least CLB6 equivalent to 5.5 IELTS

  2. At least CLB5 is equivalent to IELTS 5.

  3. C/D job language at least CLB4 equivalent to IELTS 4.5

  • Applicant intends to live in the application community

  • Obtain community endorsement (recommendation letter)

  • Provide proof of funds

Material list

  • A recommendation letter from an agency designated by the local government is required (6 months validity)

  • The applicant scans the entire passport (all previous passports)

  • All current and past study/work permits

  • All Canadian academic certificates/transcripts

  • Educational Certificate Assessment (ECA) Report (Overseas qualifications)

  • IELTS/CEPT transcript (within two years)

  • Proof of bank deposit funds and bank records in the past six months

  • Proof of work: employer letter/T4 tax return

  • Work pay roll/check/bank account salary deposit record

  • All past NOA (notice of assessment) tax refund forms

  • Canadian criminal record fingerprint certificate (if you have lived in other countries for more than 6 months, you also need to provide the country’s criminal certificate)

  • Notarized translation of birth certificate/notarized translation of household registration/notarized translation of Chinese criminal record

  • Electronic photo: white background 50mm*70mm

  • If you have real estate, please provide the land tax bill
