The Canadian Permanent Resident Card (PR card) is also called the Maple Leaf Card, and its validity period is five years. Permanent residents of Canada must show this card when returning to Canada by commercial transportation, such as airplanes, merchant ships, trains or buses. Those who fail to present a valid PR card or PRTD will not be able to travel to Canada by transportation. Permanent residents are responsible for ensuring that their Maple Leaf Card is legal and valid when entering Canada.
